Venetian Plastering in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Simply put, Venetian plaster is plaster mixed with marble dust. It is applied with a spatula or a trowel in thin multiple layers, which are then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture.
Venetian plaster can be used to create a highly polished, rock-hard, marble finish look on surfaces where marble panels would be too impractical to install or too expensive to be carved into, like columns or curved walls.
Venetian plaster can be tinted or colored using natural or synthetic colorants. The ability to tint Venetian plaster is especially helpful when a specific color of “marble” is desired by the client or when a color that does not exist naturally is wanted.
Venetian plaster is applied to walls that are smooth to the touch and without texture. The basecoat color is usually tinted to the color of the plaster. A clear sealant is applied to the finish for protection and washability.

The reason for my low rating is two-fold:
1. The bottom part of a wall around some windows needed to be texturized before painting. This was not done well and it looks rough and half finished (see pictures).
2. During the 4 days that Travis and an employee were at our house for the job, a number of our Dewalt tools and batteries had gone missing from a shelf in our garage. Travis and an employee used our garage to go in and out of our house and the shelf is located on the other side of the garage. Upon reviewing videos captured outside of our garage for a span of a few weeks, the employee was seen carrying out a Dewalt bag to his car. No tools were used during the plastering and painting job and I was home during the entire painting process. I talked to Travis and sent him the video and pictures of the shelf before they started the job and after. He said he talked to his employee and the employee denied taking the tools. There has been no follow up during the last few weeks. I know that I did not personally witness or have videos of the employee taking the tools from the shelf, but this is the only possible scenario we can think of. So we have lost not just $1000 of tools (below deductible of home owner's insurance), but also the sense of trust and safety in our own home.
